Fired Up was a short-lived 1997–1998 sitcom airing on NBC. It lasted for two seasons and 28 episodes. It was a contemporary of shows such as Caroline in the City and Suddenly Susan. In fact, at one point, all of these shows were part of a Monday night television promotion of shows about single women living in the modern world. The tagline of the series was "First she got fired, then she got fired up."
The show centered on Gwen Leonard, played by Sharon Lawrence. It also featured Mark Feuerstein and Leah Remini.
A creative executive, Gwen (Sharon Lawrence), and her long-time assistant, Terry (Remini) are fired from their jobs. After 3 months, Gwen shows up at Terry's door, broke. Gwen cajoles Terry into going into business with her as equals, which proves difficult after their previous business relationship. Gwen also moves in with Terry and her brother, Danny (Mark Feuerstein). Gwen also has to fight off the advances of Danny's boss, Guy (Jonathan Banks), who owns the bar below where the trio live.
