Gary Chalk is an illustator and model-maker who is perhaps best known for his contributions to the Lone Wolf series of gamebooks written by Joe Dever. He is also illustrating with original artworks the upcoming French edition of Mongoose Publishing’s Lone Wolf RPG, due to be released in late 2006/early 2007.
Born in 1952, Gary grew up in rural Hertfordshire, England. He started playing wargames at the age of 15. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in design, and spent time as a teacher of art and design before going freelance.
In addition to Lone Wolf, Gary has been involved in the artwork for a number of other notable games and books. These include the board game Talisman and the first six volumes of the Redwall series of children's books. He has also drawn maps for the entire selection of Warriors (novel series) books by Erin Hunter.
Gary Chalk (born 1953) is a British-born Canadian actor and voice actor. He is also known as Garry Chalk.
Gary was born in Southampton, England and moved to Vancouver, Canada in 1957. He has been involved with professional theatre since 1978, and has performed at The Playhouse, The Arts Club and numerous theatres in British Columbia, Ontario and Alberta. The last live stage production he did was A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, where he played Milos Gloriosous. He also performed in Henry IV and As You Like It at The Playhouse, as well as Dracula and Passion at The Arts Club.
Most of his career has been in film and television; he had a recurring role on Cold Squad for four years, for which he won Gemini Awards in two consecutive years, and until the close of its ninth season had a recurring role on the hit science-fiction series Stargate SG-1. He is also a veteran of over 1500 animated productions including Class of the Titans, Transformers and the 2002 remake of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. He is, however, best known for his voice acting of Optimus Prime/Primal, whom he has often played since he first acquired the role in the Beast Wars Transformers Series, with the single exception being the Robots in Disguise series.
Most recently, he has appeared occasionally in the Sci-Fi Channel shows Eureka, as Col. Briggs and Painkiller Jane, as Ruben Hennessey.
Has been involved in two cartoons that were either spin offs or remakes of an earlier series. He provided the voice of He-Man in "The New Adventures of He-Man" and later provided the voice of Man-At-Arms in the 2002 version of "He-Man & The Masters of the Universe". He also provided the voice of Optimus Primal on "Beast Wars: Transformers" and later voiced Optimus Prime on "Transformers Armada".
Unlike John Erwin and Cam Clarke, who provided the voices of both He-Man and Prince Adam i (Erwin in the 1983 Filmation series and Clarke in the 2002 Mike Young Productions series), Chalk only provided the voice of He-Man, while a different actor, Doug Parker, provided the voice of Prince Adam.
