He has had his own half-hour stand-up special as part of the series Comedy Central Presents. He has several stories about his life in Philadelphia and his run-ins with the police there. Robinson acted in the film Rebound: The Legend of Earl 'The Goat' Manigault. He also appeared in NBC's The Colin Quinn Show. Robinson performs regularly at the Comedy Cellar in Manhattan, frequently as the MC. Keith Robinson is also featured in the upcoming movie This Christmas (film)
He was also in the movie Dream Girls and played as, C.C, Effie's brother.
Keith Robinson (born 14 December 1976 in Te Aroha, New Zealand) is a former New Zealand rugby union footballer. His usual position is at . He was first selected for New Zealand's national team, the All Blacks in 2002. His career was plagued by injury, and he was selected into the 2006 All Blacks after making a remarkable comeback from a serious back injury. He last played against the Pacific Islanders in 2004 before making a comeback in the 2006 Autumn internationals. He made his Test debut on the All Blacks end-of-year tour in 2002 but, after three Tests, had to wait another 18 months to be recalled by Graham Henry for the Tri-Nations Tests in 2004. Robinson made a surprise return to Waikato's Air New Zealand Cup side in September 2006. In October 2007 he announced he was retiring from all rugby at the age of only 30. He cited his recurring left knee injury as the reason for his retirement.
Keith Robinson is the manager of the Kauai Wildlife Reserve, a Botanical Garden on the Hawaiian Island of Kauai. As an heir of Eliza Sinclair, Keith owns the Hawaiian island of Niihau with his brother Bruce Robinson. His distinctive traits include wearing denim jeans, a green hard hat, and a Glock pistol in a shoulder holster, carrying a machete, and driving a 1984 Nissan 4x4 pickup truck. Keith Robinson stands 5'10" tall and weighs 165 lbs.
Keith attended University of California Davis and graduated with a degree in agronomy and ranch management. After college, Keith served in the US Army before returning to Hawaii. Upon returning to Hawaii, Keith worked Koolau Ranch on Kauai seven years and operated a commercial fishing vessel on Kauai for another seven years.
Keith Robinson has been credited for keeping numerous plants from becoming extinct, including the Cyanea Pinnatifida grown by Keith Robinson, but still on the list of extinct plants. "I've spent eighteen years and more than $250,000 doing this work, and I estimate it would cost the government or environmental groups $10-20 million to create a comparable reserve. I've done all phases of it myself; scouting, seed collecting, seed germination, planting, transplanting, watering, growing, fencing, fertilizing, and insecticide spraying. In most environmental groups or botanical gardens, the work is highly compartmentalized. You get your plant scouts, your seed collectors, your nurserymen, and people on the grounds. They all have different duties, and their duties never change, so none of them has a broad overview of what's going on. They don't know what specific problems there are at various stages where you're trying to produce the plants."
Keith Robinson has openly expressed concerns about his family's ability to continue to maintain private ownership of Niihau due to government and environmental groups. There are environmental lawsuits against the family by groups such as Earthjustice, and paying taxes on the island casts an extremely heavy burden on the profits of the Robinsons' interests in agricultural companies on Kauai. Keith Robinson has compared his plight on Niihau to Ruby Ridge and the Waco Siege, threatening to defend his island with force if necessary.
Keith and Bruce Robinson have been offered over one billion dollars US for Niihau, and turned it down. Keith had repeatedly expressed his hopes to keep Niihau private to preserve the environment and traditions of the 150 to 200 native Hawaiian inhabitants and has occasionally taken large losses to do so. Keith has stated "I estimate that we have lost somewhere between $8-9 million trying to keep people employed. This figure does not count income loss from giving free housing and free meat to a community of 150-200 people."
Keith Robinson was born in Kentucky and grew up in Augusta, Georgia. He later moved to Atlanta and graduated from Lakeside High School. He attended the University of Georgia and, while there, signed a recording contract with Motown Records, but that label never issued any of his material. Robinson moved to Los Angeles and earned a starring role as Joel Rawlings, the Green Ranger in the TV series Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue. Robinson appeared in other series including "ER" (1994), "American Dreams" (2002), "Monk" (2002), "Half & Half" (2002), and "Over There" (2005). Robinson's role as C.C. White in Dreamgirls (2006), which includes a Robinson-led version of the song "Family," appears to have been a breakout. He was subsequently cast in "Comanche Moon" (2008) (mini) now in post-production, in This Christmas (2007) now filming, Apostles, The (2008) (TV) in pre-production and Caught on Tape (2008) now in production.
